PROCEEDS & BENEFITS
Through the dedication to the mission of LoveFest HIV/AIDS Awareness Outreach Foundation, we are determined to help bring awareness to the HIV/AIDS epidemic that has severely impacted our nation and the world, with a particular focus on our home base, the South Florida region. As of June 2013, Miami – Dade is ranked number one in the nation for the highest number of new AIDS cases per capita in the United States and second in the nation for the number of children with AIDS. Neighboring county, Broward is ranked second in the nation for the highest number of new AIDS cases.
Although HIV-positive diagnoses and statistics are still high in the tri-county area of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, LoveFest Miami Music Festival strives to play a vital role in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
It is our goal to increase responsible health-related decision making, and to raise the awareness of accessible testing, prevention and treatment resources, for HIV and other sexual transmitted diseases and infections in affected areas in South Florida and the surrounding communities.
On Saturday February 14th, 2015, from 10am until 11pm, a free and confidential HIV testing will be offered on-site, on the premises of BankUnited Center, at the University of Miami campus. Additional health resources will also be available through many of our community partners throughout the course of the event.
